"Save-A-Lot is a chain of discount grocery stores headquartered in Missouri. It was founded in 1977 by Bill Moran to provide another option besides larger supermarkets. Stores carry most traditional grocery store products, such as fresh, canned and frozen produce, meat, cereal, household items, and pantry staples. Save-A-Lot stores sell both national brands and private label brands at a discount. There are 1,300 stores across 36 states and they offer up to a 40 percent discount on groceries. I have been to a Save-A-Lot in Broward County and while prices were discounted I was put off by the cleanliness of the store. Not so here. Everything was sparkling. I was actually here twice. The first time I just walked in and on the second visit they were limiting people in the store and I had to wait as people left but it was only 5 minutes. I am always looking to save money on food. Especially now when I am cooking so much and I lost one of my jobs. Save-A-Lot can really help you stretch your grocery budget especially if you are not picky about brands. The produce and meat section looked great. If I lived closer I would make this my first stop when I needed food."
